CLIENT SECURITY BOARD APPROVES CLAIMS

ST. PAUL – At its June 26, 2023, meeting, the Minnesota Client Security Board approved payment of two claims, in the amount of $14,540, against disbarred attorneys John T. Hernandez and Ignatius C. Udeani.

The Board approved one claim against disbarred attorney John T. Hernandez in the amount of $9,500. The Board has now approved two claims against Hernandez totaling $12,750. Hernandez last practiced in Bloomington, Minnesota. He was disbarred by the Minnesota Supreme Court in April 2023.

The Board approved one claim against disbarred attorney Ignatius C. Udeani in the amount of $5,040. The Board has now approved two claims against Udeani totaling $6,040. Udeani last practiced in Bloomington. He was disbarred by the Minnesota Supreme Court in January 2023.

The Client Security Fund was established by the Minnesota Supreme Court, and is funded by Minnesota attorneys to reimburse clients who suffer loss of money or other property due to the dishonest conduct of their attorney. The Fund does not cover losses resulting from negligence of lawyers. The Fund is administered by a Board appointed by the Court, and consists of five lawyer members and two non-lawyer members. All serve without compensation as a public service.
